 This world that we live in is literally filled with strange places from underwater ruins, to giant statues, haunted passages and, of course, an underwater Jesus. Not sure how He ended up there but He is there.

This almost haunting scene of old steel beams is just one of many rooms in this coal plant in France.

4. The Towers of Red Sands

This outpost was used by the British to defend themselves in the British North Sea from Nazi Luftawaffe and navy. Not even pirate come around these things anymore as they are constantly falling apart piece by piece.

5. Lion City

Although this might look like the underwater palace in Ocarina of Time it is not. Located in the quiet forest is Qiandao Lake which is in Shi Cheng City, is a Han Dynasty city built around the time of Jesus.

6. Belgian Reactor

This old nuclear reactor is a spectacular sight by itself. Unfortunately since the words “nuclear danger” is not something anyone wants anything to do with you won’t find any people around here unless they are maniacs.

7. Mirny Diamond Mine

The Mir mine also called the Mirny mine, is a former open pit diamond mine, now inactive, located in Mirny, Eastern Siberia, Russia. The mine is 525 meters (1,722 ft) deep (4th in the world) and has a diameter of 1,200 m (3,900 ft), and is the second largest excavated hole in the world, after Bingham Canyon Mine.

8. Willard Asylum

This haunting place is where hundreds of people who were considered insane called home. Anyone who visits describes this place as haunting and unsettling. This will not be on our next vacation schedule!

9. The Orpheum Theater.

10. Gulliver’s Travel Theme Park

This place looks like somewhere we would like to go and explore! Japan’s Gulliver’s Island Theme Park looks like a place that would be fun but unfortunately it was abandoned in 1997 and this is what it looks like now.
